Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre Pressbaum

Project Details:

Sector(s): Healthcare

Client: WPK Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre

Services: Construction Management

Completion: 2005

The existing building of the former Sanatorium consisted of the following buildings: Pavilion 1, Pavilion 2 with tower, central wing and a two-storey building attached to the west. The pavilions were built in 1905. The current complex was created through various conversions and additions over the past 50 years.

In the course of the project’s construction works, the old central wing was completely demolished and rebuilt. The technical building equipment was completely renewed in the entire complex. In Pavilion 1 and 2, therapy rooms were created on the 1st to 3rd floors, with residential units on the ground floor. The common premises as well as a cafeteria are located in the new central wing. Residential units will also be built in the tower adjacent to Pavilion 2. As in the old Sanatorium, the basement will primarily serve to accommodate the supply systems, technical rooms and storage rooms.
