The existing building, which is listed as a historic monument, is being completely renovated and will in future house around 60 subsidized rental apartments. For this purpose, a building rights contract was concluded with GSWB. The care of seniors is to be completely restructured and in future to be handled within the framework of supervised households. A total of 96 apartments for seniors are planned in the new building, which are to be built in 8 shared houses according to the shared house model. As part of the realization competition, the new building for the households was developed.

This is followed by the detailed design, obtaining the permits and the tender. The client for the project is the city of Salzburg, represented by the municipal real estate company (SIG). The construction began in spring 2016 and the construction period was estimated at 16 months. After completion and occupation of the new building, the historic building will be renovated and converted into around 60 rental apartments, according to the existing plan.
