Descirption:
A new office building shall be built on the former Nordbahnhof site in Vienna – Nordbahnstrasse 3. At the corner of Nordbahnstrasse and Am Tabor, a nine-story tower will preserve the urban cityscape. Parallel to this, a block shall be built along Nordbahnstrasse and 4 solitary garden wings shall be built to the east of the property. The open space between the garden wings shall be landscaped.
In addition to the HVAC equipment, photovoltaic elements shall be mounted on the roof. Photovoltaic panels are planned on the sloping roofs of the fingers and in part of the facade on Nordbahnstraße. Furthermore, geothermal energy (heat pump) is planned for alternative energy generation. A total of 8 wind turbines shall be located on the roof of the tower and on the component 2.
Sustainable buildings can only be created through integral and holistic planning. The three pillars of sustainability are in the foreground, since the preservation of the environment is in the general interest and the three dimensions of ecology, economy and sociology are just as important as technical and process-related qualities. Therefore, the building received a pre-certificate from ÖGNI in gold.
