Description:
On the initiative of the City of Vienna, the production of sterile goods, which was previously divided between several hospitals, is now being concentrated at a few selected locations, to make it more economical.
The functional unit in the Danube Hospital was therefore converted into a new central sterilization department. As part of the “SZO infrastructure adaptation” project, the former main sterilization facility was converted into a processing unit for medical products, with a gross floor area of around 2,400 m². A necessary measure associated with this was the renewal of the central emergency power system. The three existing generators were replaced by two new ones. The control system was also renewed. This work was carried out on a gross floor area of approx. 1,000 m² and was supervised by Ingenos.Gobiet GmbH. All conversions were carried out while the hospital continued to operate.
